Allot-Amdocs Solution for Cell Congestion

A recent report by HeavyReading concluded that "RAN Congestion is Getting Worse" (here) and that "A majority of operators want real-time or near-real-time information on congestion when applying controls".

A number of vendors, usually based on partnerships between networking devices and policy control offer solutions to the problem (see Vasona,  RADCOM/HP, RADCOM/Amdocs, Movik, Sandvine, Broadband Systems). 

Allot Communications and Amdocs published a presentation explaining their joint solution for policy-based cell congestion (note that the subscriber location is noted only when the session starts).
