Openet and Allot Communications continue to join forces in PCC/DPI projects (see "Wireless DPI, Caching and Policy Management Wins by Allot and Openet" -here).
The two vendors announced that "their joint policy management solution has been selected by TELE Greenland A/S, the leading provider of telecom solutions in Greenland, across its fixed broadband and mobile networks. The solution combines Allot’s DPI market leading technology Service Gateway for delivery of 3GPP compliant TDF functionality (see "Allot Enhances DPI Gateway with Standard TDF; Deployed by LTE Operators" - here), together with Openet’s pre-packaged, fully customizable Express Solutions (see "Openet Pre-Packaged Solutions Available (Fair use, Tiered Services ..)" - here) to deliver a set of Policy and Charging Control (PCC) use cases. It enables TELE Greenland to shape and monetize the customer experience by rolling out flexible charging plans tailored to the activities of individual subscribers".
TELE Greenland had 17,355 mobile subscribers at the end of 2011, of population of 56,000 people scattered over thousands of kilometers.
