Netflix: Comcast Performance Improved by 65%

The Comcast-Netflix agreements (which had "no preferential network treatment" - here) had done, after all, wonders to the performance of Netflix streams going to Comcast customers.

In its monthly update, Netflix says that "This month’s rankings are a great illustration of how performance can improve when ISPs work to connect directly to Netflix. In the US, the average speed on the Comcast network for Netflix streams is up 65 percent from 1.51Mbps in January to 2.5Mbps in March."

As a result. Comcast jumped 6 places in Netflix' ISP score table, with minor changes to the other ISPs.

  1. That's a great news. This improvement of speed is awesome. It couldn't be achieved without having ISPs connect to the Netflix directly.
