TeliaSonera IC Launches Diameter Roaming Exchange Service

TeliaSonera International Carrier (TSIC) announced it launched its "Diameter Roaming Exchange (DRX) service, an innovative roaming solution that enables mobile operators to seamlessly provide subscribers with high-speed, high-quality 4G services outside of their domestic coverage footprint. The DRX service also carries an industry-first managed option that simplifies operations and reduces operator hardware investments, while providing end-users with enhanced quality of experience as well as high performance connectivity backed by TSIC’s global IPX network.

Chief among the customers already actively benefiting from the DRX service’s managed option include the TeliaSonera Group´s mobile operators in Sweden, Norway, Spain, Finland and Denmark, with the Baltic and Eurasian operators to swiftly follow. The IPX-based Diameter roaming service successfully carried multiple gigabytes of data roaming traffic for 4G roamers traveling from Sweden and Norway to Spain’s Mobile World Congress earlier this year, an event that converged over 85,000 delegates".

SDC Deployments [284]: CITIC [Asia] Deploys F5 for IPX Service

F5 Networks announced that "CITIC Telecom International .. has deployed the F5® Traffix® Signaling Delivery Controller Diameter solution to optimize its IPX (Internet Protocol eXchange) service .. The IPX solution provides a one-stop-shop turnkey solution for IDD voice, mobile roaming signaling, SMS messaging, and roaming data services for both mobile and fixed network operators, as well as Internet service providers (ISPs). Seamless connectivity provided by the F5 Traffix SDC gateway enables CITIC and its customers to quickly enter new roaming agreements, and the solution’s Diameter Edge Agent (DEA) protects the network to maintain reliable LTE roaming services"

Diametriq Packages LTE Roaming for IPX Providers

Diametriq announced a suite of products and tools, targeting the IPX market, enabling LTE roaming. The new offering includes:

• Diametriq Edge Appliance -  a cost-effective network element that enables LTE network operators to concentrate their roaming signaling traffic on an edge device without requiring a fully functional and expensive Diameter Signaling Controller

• Diameter Roaming Visibility - offers operators a view of their roaming subscribers and their behavior. It includes map-based graphics that show the number of roamers and where they are located, data usage and duration of data sessions

• Diametriq Roaming Simulator - a suite of network element simulators that allows IPX providers to test various real life roaming scenarios as well as interoperability before going live. The service is hosted in Diametriq’s lab and can be accessed remotely by operators and IPX services.
