The
Israeli communication regulator (
Ministry of Communication) will require mobile and fixed carriers, as well as ISPs, to include committed (minimal) upload and download speeds (to be presented
separately) in their publications.
See a press release (
here, Hebrew) about the upcoming hearing on this subject. This is a
preliminary step, so the term "
speed" is not defined and obviously noteasy to define.
Moshe Cachlon, (picture) the Minister of Communications said that "
the transparency requirement will allow customers to examine each provider’s proposal and will allow to perform service and price comparison".
Mr. Cachlon initiated a number of consumer-oriented regulations during his 2 years in duty in all aspects of public communication services.
