[Israel] ISPs will have to Publish Committed Speed

The Israeli communication regulator (Ministry of Communication) will require mobile and fixed carriers, as well as ISPs, to include committed (minimal) upload and download speeds (to be presented separately) in their publications.

See a press release (here, Hebrew) about the upcoming hearing on this subject. This is a preliminary step, so the term "speed" is not defined and obviously noteasy to define.

Moshe Cachlon, (picture) the Minister of Communications said that "the transparency requirement will allow customers to examine each provider’s proposal and will allow to perform service and price comparison".

Mr. Cachlon initiated a number of consumer-oriented regulations during his 2 years in duty in all aspects of public communication services.
