Comptel announced that ".. Finnish communications service provider (CSP) DNA Ltd. has extended its use of Comptel Policy Control. This allows DNA to launch new differentiated broadband services, control traffic congestion in real time on Radio Access Networks (RAN) and guarantee maximum network utilisation".
See "Finnish Operator DNA Selects Comptel's Policy Solution for RAN Congestion Control" - here.
"Comptel Policy Control has been deployed in both DNA's test and live networks. The proof-of-concept demonstrated that dynamically assigned QoS priorities worked end-to-end through DNA's packet core network, RAN and all the way up to the user terminal (for example, handset)"
At the end of 2010 DNA had 2.1M mobile subscribers. The carrier signed a contract with Ericsson to upgrades its network to LTE/EPC (here)
Mr. Antti Jokinen (picture), Head of Core Networks and Service Platforms, DNA said: "Comptel Policy Control allows us .. [to] launch advanced and highly competitive broadband services based on tried-and-tested QoS priorities."
