Monday's Guest Post - Policy Exchange Controllers

A new guest post will be published on Monday. In his article, "Policy exchange controllers - scaling policy infrastructure in LTE and IMS", my 4th guest, Kevin Klett, will discuss the new and rising space of policy exchange controllers (also known as "diameter routers")

Kevin will explore the role of policy exchange controllers to cost effectively scale policy infrastructure. Policy information includes AAA, charging and QoS information applied to subscribers and services and makes use of Diameter signaling in all-IP networks. These elements can be highly meshed within complex routing or interoperability environments requiring a proxy element to streamline operations and facilitate manageable scalability. PECs are such elements and fulfill the DRA role to offload intensive processing from the many 100s of elements in next generation networks.
Stay tuned.
