Allot: Mobile Traffic Grew by 68%, Video Streaming by 92%

 
Allot released a new MobileTrends report covering the first half of 2010. In addition to a global traffic growth of 68% and video streaming growth of 92% during the period (see chart below), the report finds that:
  • Video streaming continues to be the favorite for watching video; YouTube remains one of the single most popular destinations accounting for 13% of mobile data bandwidth
     
  •  P2P and HTTP downloads together represent a significant 31% of mobile bandwidth, with an aggregate growth rate of 80%.
     
  • VoIP and IM grew by 84%.  Skype remains the undisputed VoIP market leader, accounting for 83% of mobile VoIP bandwidth.
