Allot published its semi-annual MobileTrends Report, showing "that mobile data bandwidth usage continued its steady rise with 77% growth during the first half (H1) of 2011 .. video streaming continued to show significant growth with a 93% increase, and remains the single largest application taking up bandwidth, accounting for 39% of mobile bandwidth .. YouTube remains the single most popular mobile Internet destination, accounting for 22% of mobile data bandwidth usage and 52% of total video streaming "

See "Allot MobileTrends Report Shows Significant 77% Growth in Mobile Data Bandwidth Usage in H1, 2011" - here. The report is available here (registration required).

Allot does not mention Netflix in the report, probably since Netflix is mainly used over fixed connections. Nevertheless, according to Sandvine, Netflix is the leading video application in North America - here - and it going now to Latin America and some countries in Europe.

  4. Yes, this is doubtless! Many people use mobile phones to watch videos even in the transport. If you have your blog on Youtube you know how difficult it is to be popular. There are so many bloggers with millions of subscribers. I have a great tip for you how to promote your blog. Just buy Youtube subscribers and you will see how beneficial it is!
