Exinda Enhances Wan Optimization w/DPI, Diagnostics, Shaping, Acceleration


Exinda announced the release of their "WAN Application Performance Solution ExOS 7.4. With improved diagnostics, shaping and acceleration techniques, this new release will help network administrators guarantee business critical applications perform as promised for all users across the extended enterprise.

.. ExOS 7.4 also enhances Exinda’s application classification engine with new and enhanced application signatures and improved Layer 7 application identification for reporting and policy creation of all traffic in your network. These enhancements include:
  • New and updated VoIP
  • real-time and conferencing applications
  • better control of recreational traffic with enriched BitTorrent detection. 
  • the new Google protocol QUIC
Kevin Suitor [pictured], VP of Product Management, Exinda said. “.. this is the first release in a series of releases that will focus on improving acceleration and control of each of the key Microsoft protocols with a goal of creating an Office 365 Solution Pack in 2016.”

US Army Needs Satellite Bandwidth Management Services W/Exinda DPI

 
The US Army is seeking sources to "Provide satellite bandwidth to multiple locations in Southwest Asia for a three month period (26 March 2013 - 25 June 2013) with global mobility capability on existing and provisioned Global Networks. Networks shall be operational with iDirect Version 2.0.1.0 or later and fully compatible with existing SNAP VSAT Terminals".

Network Packet Shaping services shall provide QoS at the application level and ensure that all users of the service at an individual site are allocated equal portions of total available network bandwidth. The Contractor shall incorporates an Exinda (Unified Performance Management (UPM) solution) appliance at each teleport to perform deep packet inspection to ensure certain types of traffic is rate limited and prioritized in a way that provides the highest levels of QoS to the network".
