Zhilabs and Stoke Partner to Offer Intelligent Analysis of LTE

Zhilabs and Stoke have "..signed an agreement to bring to market a joint RAN analytics solution that enables mobile broadband operators to pinpoint trouble spots in 3G/LTE networks with greater speed and accuracy and take more rapid corrective action.

.. The joint solution leverages the inherent data collection capabilities of the Stoke security gateway rather than network probes, which are increasingly viewed as expensive and hard to manage, to provide a far more cost-effective and reliable alternative to probes. Combined with the massive processing and insight capabilities of Zhilabs' technology, the solution provides actionable insight to enable precise remediation of RAN to core traffic issues in real time in the challenging RAN-to-Core area".

News [Part-2]: Aptilo, Stoke, Ixia, Ulticom, BTI Systems, Broadcom

MWC news report continues..
  • Aptilo Networks and Stoke have "partnered to deliver an end-to-end solution allowing cellular operators to provide a carrier-class Wi-Fi interworking service for subscribers .. The Aptilo Service Management Platform (SMP), through Web portal or automatic SIM- based authentication, can identify a subscriber and assign traffic policies according to highly specific customer or network attributes. The Aptilo SMP can also mediate charging functions for these subscribers so that the user experience and billing are similar to that of the cellular network .. The Stoke Wi-Fi eXchange can link tens of thousands of Wi-Fi access points from different manufacturers to the operator core network, and can identify traffic at a high level of granularity to allow selective routing of user session traffic. This level of control enables operators to deliver different service classes, provide mobile network services to Wi-Fi users, and balance core network element and Internet backhaul resources".

Stoke: New Application-aware, PCEF Capable, Offload Gateway

Stoke announced the immediate availability of its ".. wireless offload gateway, the Wi-Fi eXchange .. the solution opens the door for operators to offset the escalating costs of capacity increases through revenues from advertising and other premium services. The Wi-Fi eXchange also reduces traffic carrying costs by giving operators granular control over subscriber sessions, enabling them to balance traffic costs with traffic value".

"The product support Up to 12 Gbps (Full Duplex) data plane capacity and up to 180,000
simultaneously attached users per system. It integrates a Policy Control Enforcement Function (PCEF) which can be used to apply policies on a per subscriber basis. Various QoS management, session gating and application reporting functions can be exercised in order to streamline and improve the quality of experience of Wi-Fi access".

"Intelligent traffic handling capabilities provided by Stoke's Wi-Fi eXchange provide the traffic insight and steering capabilities required to make Wi-Fi offload commercially viable for operators. For example, Wi-Fi eXchange allows mobile broadband operators to apply policy to route some sessions to the mobile core, while Internet bound sessions bypass core network elements. This granular, dynamic traffic control gives operators a comprehensive view of Wi-Fi-connected user activity, and also guards against mobile core cost escalation while keeping a door open for mobile services over Wi-Fi"
